The theme of this inaugural reunion is Sankofa: Reclaiming Our Shared Heritage and will be held on St. Kitts and Nevis on 25 July - 1 August 2025. Sankofa is an African symbol meaning "Go Back and Get It." For the descendants of enslaved Africans in the Caribbean, Sankofa holds profound meaning. It is one of the four critical elements of our clan emblem and teaches that it is essential to reach back into our past to retrieve the lessons, wisdom, and strength that will guide us forward.
One fun idea for the 2025 Reunion is creating a keepsake Cookbook. We know that this family includes a number of talented and incredible cooks and bakers AND those that are fantastic at one dish and everyone loves it. Elliott Clan member Kameelah Mu'Min Oseguera's famous Triple Layer Carrot Cake was featured in The New York Times in 2021. Let's bring our coveted recipes together (for breakfast, appetizers, main, beverage, dessert, etc), with our favorite family stories to create the first ELLIOTT CLAN COOKBOOK!
