We are excited to announce the first reunion of the Elliotts of St. Kitts and Nevis! According to family lore, 3 Elliott Brothers (likely from Yorkshire, Northern England) immigrated to the British West Indies in the 18th or 19th century. One Elliott brother settled in Jamaica, one brother settled in St. Kitts, and another on the Island of Nevis - Gingerland, St. George Parish. Almost 200 years later, the descendants of these Elliott brothers number in the hundreds, if not thousands - and now reside all over the world, from United Kingdom, United States, Canada, New Zealand and many islands of the Caribbean.

Family Tree

In August 2019, Elliott descendants began to connect with one another via WhatsApp to learn more about our common ancestors and history. This family tree project, led by Dr. Kameelah Mu'Min (2ndgreatgranddaughter of Benjamin Elliott (1849-1927) & Alice Ann Weekes) has now grown to include over 125 Elliotts across the globe. By sharing our many stories, pictures and other relevant information (AncestryDNA and 23andMe matches), we have begun piecing together a rather impressive family tree which includes over 1,000 living and deceased Elliott descendants. The oldest (known) living Elliotts are:

  • *Eglantine Elliott, 99

    • [1920-2020, daughter of John James Elliott (1862-1951) of St. Kitts; residing in St. Thomas]

  • *Lewis "Roper" Elliott, 99

    • [born 1921, son of James Alfred Elliott (1888-?); residing in Gingerland, Nevis]

  • Beatrice Elliott Woodburn, 97

    • [born 1922, daughter of Miriam Elliott (1898 - ?); residing in South Carolina]

  • James Wilmot Elliott, 95

    • [born 1924, son of James "Denny" Elliott; residing in England]

  • Blondina Elliott, 92

    • [born 1927, daughter of Joseph "Jimmy" Elliott (1888 - ?); residing in New York]

Update: August 1, 2020: *Lewis Roper Elliott passed away on March 4, 2020 and Eglantine Elliott passed away on March 22, 2020.

About St. Kitts and Nevis

Elliott Reunion

Saint Kitts and Nevis also known as the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis is an island country in the West Indies, the Caribbean Sea on one side, and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Located in the Leeward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles, it is the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, in both area and population. St. Kitts and Nevis were among the first islands in the Caribbean to be colonized by Europeans. St. Kitts was home to the first British and French colonies in the Caribbean, and thus has also been titled "The Mother Colony of the West Indies". St. Kitts and Nevis gained its independence on September 19, 1983.
